  1. What’s your favorite fast meal?

I keep fresh veggies in my fridge at all times (think bagged broccoli florets, pre-sliced onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, etc) so I dump them all in a baking dish and drizzle grapeseed oil over the buffet of vegetable options. In the second baking dish, I pull out frozen salmon (it defrosts quickly) and drown the filets with lemon juice. I bake at 425 until everything is cooked (I usually sit on the couch and watch TV while the oven does the work). Easy and effortless!

  1. What’s your favorite thing about being a mom?

When my kids are asleep. Just joking! I love hugs from my kids because they are far less frequent these days. I like that they make me laugh every day. I was meant to be a boy mom for sure!

  1. What’s most challenging about being a mom?

It’s all trial and error, and I just have no idea what I’m doing. It’s hard to know how to discipline on the fly for each kid and each situation. There’s plenty of mental exhaustion. And I cannot guarantee that my 4 gents will love and follow Christ. But I assure them I’ll visit them on Sundays if they end up behind bars.

  1. What is God teaching you in this season?

That my children have free will. As much as I’d love perfect little robots, they get to make decisions that are foolish or wise. I have to allow them to struggle and experience pain. I have to daily surrender my fears to the One who is in charge of their destinies. Trusting and submitting it all at God’s feet is challenging.

  1. When do you exercise and what does that look like for you?

I am a “get ‘er done” kind of gal, so I don’t want to waste time. Typically I’m in pajamas in the living room with a reality show on TV to distract me, with 2 dogs watching me. I like mid-morning (a luxury, I know, since I work from home). Our Sisterhood workouts pack a punch in just a few minutes of my day, which is crucial!

  1. What are your favorite parenting resources?

I hate to read. And even deeper than my avoidance of books is how I dodge listening. I am a terrible listener. Before kids, I used to read. But nowadays the only thing I’m willing to read is the Bible and that’s just about every day. It’s the only manual I need that will definitely give perfect wisdom.

  1. What is always in your grocery cart?

loathe grocery shopping so I typically place online orders so I can pick it up and avoid the 45 minute torture with my litter of children. Here are my healthy must-haves:

Fresh broccoli florets

Cherry tomatoes

Garlic hummus

Kombucha

Free range eggs

Pepperoni

Baby bell peppers

Peanut butter

Coffee

Tiny water bottles for lunches
